What is a Notary?
A notary is someone who has been commissioned by their respective state to verify document signatures. Before attaining this position, the individual must first meet all state guidelines, obtain a bond, and submit all of the required documents.
After being approved by their local county commission, the Secretary of State, and the Governor, the notary must acquire the proper notary seal. The Notary is also required to keep a record of all documents that he/she has witnessed.
If the notarized document is ever called into question, the notary seal provides an added layer of confidence that the signature is valid.
